Well today we are starting with Friendly A/P and a video they have produced. We follow that with another video from Aquaponics Canada showing some fine results after 46 days, Then a guy looking for information, Maybe someone here can help. Next there is an A/P  event at Beaverton on the 21st. We also have an interesting article on the comparison between Hydro v Aquaponics... (no contest I.M.H.O). On a sad note we go to Racine to find the report of an A/P closure. The final article for this week is all about "Teaching a man to fish"???

 Good source for Aquaponics information?

    Hello all,

As most of you know I am an avid organic soil gardener.
As of late, I have been wanting to try to go even more organic, and have come across a style of growing called Aquaponics.
There seems to be relatively little information, and I cannot seem to find a definitive guide or knowledge base.
Can anyone help steer me in the right direction for more knowledge on Aquaponics?

MQVN CDC is developing aquaponics site designs with local community members, and is exploring how to provide financial and technical support as aquaponics technology for commercial agricultural and aquaculture production takes hold in the community.

Aquaponics Versus Hydroponics

Why Aquaponic Method is Much better than Hydroponics Technique
For quite some time there’s been a broad debate concerning the potency of Aquaponic Systems. There are plenty of classic supporters of hydroponics believe that hydroponics is plenty for harvesting quality vegetables and fruits. I’m not really debating the truth that hydroponics has served its purpose properly, but like all agricultural technologies, hydroponics possesses his own limitations.

Aquaponics farm closed, farmer hopes to restart it
RACINE — A novel aquaponics operation that grew indoor lettuce and fish is finished, at least for the foreseeable future.
However, Natural Green Farms co-owner Joe Heineman said Monday he holds hope of restarting the operation within a year or two, with a new system he’s devised.
Growing operations at 615 Marquette St., an old industrial building, actually ended in September or October,

Aquaponics question?

I have a 25 gallon fish tank that started with 2 convict cichlids almost a year later there are 32 almost full grown convict cichlids and Im having trouble keeping the tank clean.

Local men go beyond ‘teaching a man to fish'

Proverbs sometimes fall short.

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a life time."
But what if there aren't any fish?
Two Orange County are men teaching themselves to build self-sustaining fish farms and use the, um, fish droppings to grow vegetables.

Well, another week, another feed of fish and veges...What a life... So, till next week... Be good to yourself and each other...
